Brown-headed Cowbirds are nest robbers - they lay their eggs in other birds nests and let those birds raise their young. Because the cowbirds are so much bigger than the birds whose nest they hijack, the cowbird chick starves out the others. 

This Yellow Warbler has been duped into raising this cowbird chick
