Exploring near Turtle Lake, WI

Rick and I wandered up to Turtle Lake to explore the woods and wildlife preserves in the area before checking into our B&B for the night.

Birding from Green Bay to the UP

Rick has a hilarious Great Blue Heron who hangs out on the tops of the buildings in the morning.

Brown-headed Cowbirds are nest robbers - they lay their eggs in other birds nests and let those birds raise their young. Because the cowbirds are so much bigger than the birds whose nest they hijack, the cowbird chick starves out the others.

"Derecho" damage

A "Derecho" is a long-lived straight-line-wind group of thunderstorms.
